Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and General Application Regulations 1993, it is the duty of the employer to take appropriate measures to either eliminate or reduce the need for manual handling. provides competent and experienced instructors where the emphasis of the training is on the practical aspects of preventing accidents caused by incorrect manual handling. Classroom tuition, practical demonstrations and workplace supervision are included in the training and the objective of the programme is to ensure the training received is put into effect in the work situation. Practical hand-outs are given to each of the participants for reference thereafter.
