Corporate Health Ireland - Occupational Health Consultants

Proactive Health Management:

Introduction
Corporate Health Ireland can provide advice at an early stage on the control of hazards in the workplace which may adversely affect health. For example;

Noise from machinery can cause deafness:
An effective hearing conservation programme protects the employee from deafness while ensuring the company operates within legislative requirements.
Work-related stress can give rise to anxiety or mental illness:
Proactive programmes aimed at recognising and managing the symptoms of stress encourage early intervention and reduce ill-health effects.
Manual handling contributes to back pain:
Manual handling training and ergonomic assessment of work practices will reduce the risk of injuries and fulfill statutory requirements.
Chemicals may cause long or short-term illness e.g. skin irritants and allergens, carcinogens:
Risk assessment reduces the risk of illness while health surveillance allows early intervention and reduces long-term problems.
Repetitive Strain Injury is an occupational health hazard in many industries:
Ergonomic assessment and relevant health checks are necessary to minimise injuries and reduce lost time.
Occupational Asthma can be caused by several common industrial agents eg Isocyanates, gluteraldehyde, flour, wood dusts, colophony fumes
Pre-placement health assessment identifies those most at risk and allows safety precautions to be put in place.
